What you can do in Donegal during National Heritage Week on Thursday August 21

Events taking place across the county from Lough Derg to Fanad

The Laurels House and Garden - Glenties

Visit The Laurels House and Garden to view progress on the conservation works that are due to be completed at the end of the year.

An overview on the gentle rehabilitation of vernacular buildings by a Conservation Architect from Dedalus Architecture and the Architectural Conservation Officer from Donegal County Council will be provided.

The property was in a derelict state and will be brought back into use as accommodation for an artist in residence. It has the opportunity to be a demonstration project that would be useful to people who are involved in the rehabilitation of vernacular buildings in Donegal.

Please note that the event is not suitable for children due to building works.

For further information, contact Donegal County Council at architecturalconservation@donegalcoco.ie or call 074 9172464.
