Plans to develop new hostel in Buncrana

Planning permission has been sought from Donegal County Council for a new 21-bedroom hostel in Buncrana

Plans have been submitted for the development of a new hostel in Buncrana.

An application has been lodged seeking planning permission for the development at Cockhill Road, Ballymacarry, Buncrana.

John and Martin McKinney are planning to construct a two-storey 21-bedroom residential hostel.

The proposed development would include nine single rooms, six double rooms and two family suites, each of which would contain one double room and two single rooms.

The building would also include a reception area, a dining area, two kitchenettes, a lounge and a laundry room.

Documents submitted to Donegal County Council includes provision for associated site works and connection to the existing services.

The local authority is expected to decide on the development by September 26, 2023.
