Greencastle Writers Group seeking writing submissions for next public event

Greencastle Writers Group is seeking submissions of writing ahead of its next public event.

The next Words by the Water event is taking place on March 2 at Greencastle Community Centre from 7.30pm to 9pm at Greencastle Community Centre. and follows two successful events last year.

The group is now looking for submissions of writing, including memoir and poems, for consideration for the next event.

The group is asking anyone who is interested in helping to attend its annual general meeting on February 12

“Last year the group put on two successful evenings of local people reading out their own work,” organiser David Simpson said. 

“There are very few opportunities for people to showcase their work. People can be shy about sharing but it’s worth remembering that every writer has been shy at the beginning.”
