WATCH: Saoirse Ronan 'magnificent' in new film about addiction struggles

Release date announced for new film based on a best-selling memoir, starring Saoirse Ronan

Saoirse Ronan's performance in her new film has been described as 'magnificent' by reviewers.

Adapted from the best-selling memoir of the same name by Amy Liptrot, THE OUTRUN is a drama about addiction, survival and the power of nature to restore life and renew hope, set in the wild northern Orkney islands.

After a decade away in London, 29-year-old Rona (Saoirse Ronan) returns home to the Orkney Islands.

Sober but lonely, she tries to suppress her memory of the events which set her on this journey of recovery.

THE OUTRUN will be released in cinemas across Ireland and the UK on September 27, 2024.
