Seven things: Movies that were shot in Donegal

Due to the county's beautiful and unique landscape, Donegal has become an increasingly popular destination for some of Hollywood's finest

Four Letters of Love 
Four Letters of Love features actors such as Pierce Brosnan as the lead, alongside Helena Bonham Carter, Gabriel James Byrne, Ann Shelly and Fionn O’Shea. The filming began in the north before switching location to the Donegal coast.
There were several chosen locations around Donegal to shoot. One location was Dunfanaghy and the surrounding beaches.  Filming was also done across west Donegal, some scenes were shot in Dungloe and surrounding areas. Glenveagh National Park and the Derryveagh mountains can also be seen in various scenes in the movie.

The film is based on a best-selling novel written by Niall Williams in 1997, which was translated into more than 30 languages.

The movie is described as a “lyrical and deeply romantic Irish story,”  which portrays a love story of two strangers who are destined to meet. Four Letters of Love was directed by Polly Steele and has yet to be released.
