Don't forget to remember is being screened in Buncrana cinema
Buncrana cinema is hosting a special screening of Don’t Forget to Remember, a documentary about an artist as he comes to terms with his mother’s fading memories.
The documentary follows the artist Asbestos as he learns to cope with his mother’s illness. While the memories are fragile, the essence of the bond remains intact.
After the screening there will be a question and answer session with the director Ross Killeen and artist Asbestos.
The event is being run on a first come, first service basis. If the night time economy scheme is successful in Buncrana it could lead to more events like this taking place in the cinema. A spokesperson for the cinema says “this is the first time in around five years that we have done a Q and A after a film, if it goes well we could try to do it again.”
The screening takes place on Thursday, September 26 at 8:15pm.
The screening is supported by the night time economy initiative supported by Donegal County Council. The screening came about after Sophie Gallagher, the night time economy advisor, contacted Anthony at Buncrana cinema, to say that the film was being screened nationwide. The film is touring towns in Ireland at the moment and Buncrana was selected.
