It will brighten up from the west through the morning and afternoon, with sunny spells and showers following. Some of the showers will be heavy, especially in the west of the region, with isolated thunderstorms and hail possible. Highs of 14 to 17 degrees with winds veering westerly and increasing moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty. Winds will be strongest in the west and northwest, with coastal gales possible in the northwest.
A mix of clear spells and further showers tonight, mainly affecting western parts of the region. Some of the showers will be heavy with a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light to moderate west to southwest winds, fresh to strong in coastal parts.
Cool and breezy tomorrow, Thursday, with sunny spells and showers in the west spreading eastwards through the morning and early afternoon. Some of the showers will be heavy, with isolated thunderstorms and hail possible. Highest temperatures of just 13 to 15 degrees, in light to moderate southwest to west winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.
