Donegal joins Clare Galway and Mayo on the orange status, which is in place from midday on Sunday till 9pm

A Severe Weather Warning for Wind has been issued for Donegal.

In an alert message from Met Éireann, Storm Ashley “will bring very strong and gusty south to southwest winds, coupled with high spring tides.”

Impacts of this include coastal flooding, large coastal waves’ loose objects displaced, fallen trees, very difficult travelling conditions, dangerous conditions at sea, damage to power lines, power outages and damage to already weakened structures. Donegal joins Clare Galway and Mayo on the orange status, which is in place from midday on Sunday till 9pm.
