Sunshine, thunderstorms, lightning, spot flooding and hail in store for Donegal

Met Éireann say the good weather spell could break in spectacular fashion in Donegal today.

Rather cloudy this morning with showers spreading slowly from the west. The afternoon and evening will bring a mix of sunny spells and heavy showers or thunderstorms. Lightning, spot flooding and hail are likely in places. Maximum temperatures ranging from 16 to 20 degrees with generally light winds, but turning gusty in showers.

Showers and thunderstorms dying out early tonight. Becoming mostly cloudy overnight. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light and variable winds.

Rain will spread gradually from the south on Monday morning, with heavy falls in places. Staying generally cloudy and damp through the afternoon and evening with outbreaks of rain. Highest temperatures ranging from 14 to 16 degrees with moderate easterly winds.
