Georgie Kelly with his parents at UCD
Georgie Kelly was in the goals again this week but then the Tooban native had another reason to celebrate.
Having scored twice for Rotherham's reserves in their 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at Roundwood in the Central League Cup on Tuesday, Kelly was back in Ireland on Thursday as he graduated with a Masters in Renewable Energy and Environmental Finance from UCD.
"I’m over the moon," he said on LinkedIn. "The last year has been a bit of a whirlwind trying to balance soccer and academics. I just want to thank everyone at the Smurfit Business School for being so accommodating and flexible during my time there!
Kelly, who was the PFAI Player of the Year in 2021, scoring 26 goals for Bohemians, also previously played with Dundalk.
