Finn Harps have been dealt a further blow with confirmation that club captain Dave Webster has signed for Bray Wanderers.

Webster missed the bulk of the 2022 season having suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in a 2-2 draw at Bohemians in April.

Webster signed for Harps in 2020 and he made 62 appearances, 55 of them in the League, across his three seasons at Finn Park.

The defender had spells at Shamrock Rovers, Waterford and St Patrick's Athletic after coming through at Bray Wanderers.

Webster was named as the Harps captain for the 2021 season and became a real fans' favourite in Ballybofey.

The 33-year-old has returned to the Carlisle Grounds and has become the third player from Harps' 2022 squad to be announced by another club tonight with Ethan Boyle (Wexford) and Rob Slevin (Galway United) also moving on.
