Erin McLaughlin and Portsmouth defeat Tyler Toland's Blackburn in Women's FA Cup

The Donegal natives were on opposing sides as Portsmouth overcame Blackburn Rovers 3-1 at the County Ground to book a place in the next round of the Adobe Women's FA Cup

Erin McLaughlin and Tyler Toland were on opposing sides in the Adobe FA Women’s Cup - with McLaughlin coming out on top,

The Culdaff woman played the full 90 minutes as Portsmouth overcame Toland and Blackburn 3-1 at the County Ground.

McLaughlin signed for Portsmouth at the start of the season having previous been at Peamount United, where she scored 21 goals in 63 games.

The Republic of Ireland international was snapped up by Pompey and is now looking ahead to a clash with Sunderland in the next round.

Emma Jones, Sophie Quirk and Sophie Barker scored for Portsmouth with Tia-Jade Primmer on target for Blackburn, who are captained by St Johnston woman Tyler Toland.

Also an Irish international, Toland is in her second season at the club after previous spells with Levante, Celtic, Glasgow City and Manchester City.

Earlier in the season Toland scored a penalty in a 2-0 win for Blackburn against Portsmouth in the League.
