Darren Murphy and Finn Harps are gearing up for a number of friendly encounters in the next number of weeks
Finn Harps will get down to competitive pre-season business this coming Saturday with rivals Derry City coming to Ballybofey (kick-off, 2pm).
Darren Murphy’s side finished just outside the promotion/relegation play-off berths last term while Derry City were fourth in the League of Ireland Premier Division and also shock 2-0 FAI Cup final losers to Drogheda Utd.
It was a result that seemed to cost Ruaidhrí Higgins his job as both parties parted company by ‘mutual consent’ soon after.
So there will be plenty of Candystripe interest in the clash as Higgins’ successor at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium, Tiernan Lynch, steps into the dugout for the first time.
It’s been confirmed that Harps will also take on Keadue Rovers at Central Park on Saturday, January 25 while Murphy and his squad have also lined up an away challenge against Sligo Rovers on February 8.
DonegalLive understands that Murphy will look to source additional friendly encounters in that fortnight gap between the Derry and the Keadue Rovers encounters.
Harps open their league campaign away to Kerry FC on Friday, February 14 with their first home clash coming the following weekend, February 21, at Finn Park.
