UCD boss William O’Connor recognised with Manager of the Year nomination

William O’Connor’s exploits with UCD in the League of Ireland First Division in 2024 has seen him nominated for Manager of the Year. 

The Buncrana native led the Students in second place this term however lost out to Bray Wanderers in the promotion play-off semi-final. 

The former Finn Harps player is up against Athlone Town’s Dario Castelo and Tim Clancy - manager of runaway First Division winners Cork City.

The Premier Division winner will be chosen from Damien Duff, boss at title winners Shelbourne, John Caulfield of Galway City and FAI Cup winners Drougheda United’s Kevin Doherty. 

The winners will be announced on November 23.
