Stephen Doherty in action for Finn Harps
Stephen Doherty has re-joined NIFL Championship side Institute after leaving Finn Harps over a week ago.
The Illies midfielder announced his departure from Finn Park on the basis of work and travel commitments.
Doherty re-joined the Harps in July 2023 after spells with Institute and Dergview, having played for the club at U-17, U-19, and Ulster Senior League level and the first team.
The 24-year-old made 19 appearances for the club this season.
“Stephen has requested to leave the club due to work and travel commitments. Everyone at Finn Harps wishes to thank Stephen for his efforts and commitment during his time with the club and wish him the best for the future,” Finn Harps boss Darren Murphy said in a statement last week.
After four league games played, Institute are bottom of the league with two points.
