St Kilda Celts aim to raise money for Donegal man Ryan Shields

St Kilda Celts after winning the league last weekend

St Kilda Celts soccer team based in Melbourne Australia have set up a GoFundMe Page for Kilmacrennan man Ryan Shields who suffered an injury playing for the club last week after winning the State League 3 Reserve Championship.

The donation page was set up by Gary McCrossan who spoke about Shields and what he means to the club saying: “As most of you who read this will know, Shieldsy suffered a horrific injury at the weekend whilst playing for the Celts. Thankfully, he is on the mend now after successful surgery on his arm.

“After joining the Celts in the summer, Shieldsy has really taken to what the Celts is all about and shown himself to be a real club man both on and off the pitch.

“What separates St Kilda Celts from any other football club is the sense of family we have and our willingness to go the extra mile for one another. We would like everyone to show that sense of family once more so we can help Shieldsy get by for the next period of time while he recovers.

“Please everyone, get together, round the troops, family, and friends, and get behind him. There is no donation too small for this cause.”
