Finn Harps can confirm that the club plans to combine the shop within Finn Park and the online shop into a joint retail operation so the club can offer supporters a better service.
Following news this morning of the store closing down, the club wishes to clarify that the store will be instead combining with the joint retail operation with Finn Harps believing it to be necessary so that both will carry the same products.
They further explain that the kit supplier will now only accept orders from the club itself and also so that those fans that buy online can exchange items when necessary at Finn Park.
The club can confirm that no one was asked to step away and it was made clear that the continued involvement of Ann Kelly and Kieran Crawford would be more than welcome. In a statement issued this afternoon by the club, they thanked them for the huge contribution they have made to Finn Harps.
There is no plan, nor has there ever been, to move to online sales only. The intention is to expand the opening hours and also to explore opportunities to make Harps merchandise available around the northwest.
These plans were communicated to the supporters club at a meeting over a year ago, it was discussed again at the AGM and emails have been sent since then making all the above clear.
