Dave Rogers agrees two-year deal at Maltese Premier League side

Former Finn Harps manager Dave Rogers has been appointed as the new boss of Maltese Premier Division side Balzan.

Rogers has signed a two-year contract after being chosen as the successor to Oliver Spiteri.

In late 2022, Rogers agreed a four-year deal at Finn Harps, but last September he stepped down following a 5-1 loss at Cobh Ramblers, at a stage with Harps sitting bottom-bar-one in the First Division.

Balzan finished eighth in the League and Rogers has been unveiled as their new head coach.

The 48-year-old Liverpudlian played for a range of clubs including Shelbourne, Dundee, Derry City, Carlisle United and Southport.

He has worked for Liverpool FC's international academy and he joined Harps having been the Under-21 manager at Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest.

On being appointed as Balzan's new head coach, Rogers said: “Our vision and principles are aligned with each others and the club's desire and ambition to lift the standards of both the first team and the Academy is a challenge we aim to embrace and enjoy.

“My objective is to apply and implement a style of play and identity throughout the club. . . I have been immensely impressed by the club's facilities and infrastructure.
