Mark Coyle of Shelbourne, centre, celebrates with his teammates after scoring their side's first goal during the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division match at Drogheda United

Two former Finn Harps players were on the mark for SSE Airtricity League Premier Division leaders Shelbourne in a dramatic draw against Drogheda United.

Mark Coyle scored Shels’ first equaliser before Sean Boyd’s header four minutes into injury time salvaged a draw for Damien Duff’s side, who are five points clear at the top of the table.

Assistant referee Dermot Broughton was struck by an object thrown from the away end moments after Boyd’s goal. Both teams were removed from the pitch by referee Rob Hennessy for a quarter of an hour, returning to play out the final few seconds of the 2-2 draw.

Oisin Gallagher - from an assist by another former Harps player Adam Foley - opened the scoring for Drogheda, who had Donegal Town native Jack Keaney lining up at centre-back, before Coyle, from Burt levelled with a superb goal on 45 minutes. Even Weir’s free-kick put Drogheda 2-1 in front before the late drama.
