Max Hutchison suffered ankle injury against Kerry.
Finn Harps midfielder Max Hutchison will be absent for at least the next six weeks.
Hutchison limped out of the 0-0 draw against Kerry last month.
Initial scans have confirmed that the 23-year-old has not sustained a break, but further tests are required.
“Max will be easily six weeks plus,” Harps manager Darren Murphy told Donegal Live after Monday's 2-0 win over Bray Wanderers.
“Max had an x-ray and it didn't show any break so it's ligament damage. We'll wait for the swelling to go down and we'll send him for an MRI just to get to the nitty gritty.”
Hutchison, a son of ex-Liverpool player Don, joined Harps last season and is one of a handful of players in a busy Finn Park treatment room at the moment.
Kevin Jordan is a long-term absentee and will be assessed again next week to determine the actual course of his next steps.
Mark Mbuli is to miss this week's game against UCD, but could return for Saturday-week's trip to Athlone Town while Oisin Cooney and Aaron McLaughlin are also absent at the moment and Stephen Doherty wasn't risked on Monday having felt a tight hamstring.
Ryan Rainey made his long-awaited return from injury this week. The Bonagee man appeared as a sub in the closing stages of Friday's 1-0 win at Treaty and was in from the off against Bray.
Murphy said: “Ryan played 90 minutes in a friendly against Fanad. It was great for us to get some minutes into Ryan and he trained well during the week.
“This was an opportunity to get more minutes in his legs and it's fantastic for us to have him back.”
