Georgie Kelly with Paul Simpson.
Paul Simpson says Georgie Kelly will be a 'real handful' after the Tooban man made his Carlisle United debut on Friday.
Kelly came on for the last 12 minutes as Carlisle caused an upset with a 3-1 win at Peterborough in League One.
Jon Mellish bagged a hat-trick at the Weston Homes Stadium.
Kelly, who moved to Carlisle from Rotherham, was sent on by Simpson in the 78th minute.
“I’m really pleased,” said Simpson, who had a spell on loan at Finn Harps in the 1984-85 season.
“We wanted to get him on earlier, but I was told no, just be careful, he only needs 20-25 minutes.
“I think you can see he’s a real threat, a real handful.
“I think him and Luke (Armstrong) together could be really dangerous, but I thought everyone that came on done their stuff today.
In two years at Rotherham, Kelly scored six goals in 51 games, including a history-making goal in 2021 that secured Rotherham promotion to the Championship in a win over Gillingham.
