Finn Harps were founded in 1954 and entered the League of Ireland 15 years later

Two Finn Harps lifelong supporters are putting the finishing touches on a book on the history of players and seasons of the club - and are offering you the chance to get your name in print too.

Researched and written by Joe Doherty and Bartley Ramsay, ‘We are the Harps’ is a history of those who have represented the club since 1969.

When the final whistle was blown in the game between Bray Wanderers and Finn Harps on Friday, October 20, 2023, It brought to an end Finn Harps Football Club's 2002nd competitive game in senior football and also drew the curtain on the club's 55th season in League of Ireland.

Over those 55 seasons, 628 players have donned the shirt and played for the club. Whether it was Jonathan Minnock, who appeared in 485 games or the 73 players who managed to see action in just a single game each, all have contributed to the history of the club over their years in senior football.

‘We are the Harps’ profiles each of those 628 players and also gives a season-by-season breakdown of their appearances, goals scored etc. Milestone appearances are included as well as clean sheet records for each of the goalkeepers, from the famous to the infamous, they are all included and this is a record of their offering to Harps. Nowhere before has a record of those who have contributed been gathered and presented in one place.

The book will retail at €20 and will be available in April/May 2024 and you can be included too. Your name can be included in the book and listed as a subscriber.
