The FAI Junior Cup trophy
The three Donegal sides left standing in the FAI Junior Cup will all face away days in the fourth round.
Cockhill Celtic and Buncrana Hearts from the Inishowen League and Letterkenny Rovers of the Donegal League will feature in round four.
Cockhill Celtic, who were the runners-up in last season’s FAI Intermediate Cup when losing to Rockmount on penalties, are back in the junior grade following the Ulster Senior League’s demise.
Gavin Cullen’s men have had plenty of away trips in the Intermediate ranks and they’re on their travels again later this month.
Cockhill will go to Laois to face Arlington after a 4-0 win over Kilmacrennan Celtic at the weekend when Garbhan Friel (2), Peter Doherty and an own goal paved the way.
Last season, as well as winning the Inishowen League Premier Division, the Buncrana Hearts first team - under the guidance of Gary Duffy - defeated Salthill Devon 2-1 to reach the FAI Junior Cup quarter-finals.
There, they lost out to eventual finalists St Michael’s and the Castle Park have been paired with Mullingary Athletic. Buncrana were comprehensive 5-0 winners against Greencastle on Sunday. Shaunie Bradley netted a brace while Sean McDermott, Kieran McDaid and Kian McGarvey also hit the target.
Nathan Plumb scored the only goal of the game as Letetrkenny Rovers defeated Aileach at the Lakeside and Stephen McConnell will take his side to Wexford for a game against North End United.
The fourth round games are pencilled in for the weekend ending November 26.
On Sunday, FAI Junior Cup holders Newmarket Celtic were dumped out by Avenue United who claimed a 3-1 win. Avenue, from Ennis, will now go to Tipperary to meet Two-Mile Borris St Kevin’s in the next round.
