Buncrana’s Emma Doherty was on fire for Sligo Rovers in their Senior Women's FAI Cup first round tie at the Showgrounds on Sunday against Bonagee United

Sligo Rovers 11-0 Bonagee United

Doherty scored five for the home side, while Casey Howe did the same as the Women's National League side flexed their muscle against a Bonagee wide who had reached the final of the FAI Amateur Cup final.

Doherty wasted no time in opening the scoring as she slotted past Catherine Fletcher following a pass from another Buncrana native, Jodie Loughrey, who was in the Sligo team alongside her sister Keri and Eimear Lafferty from Redcastle.

Sligo continued on the front foot and it was 5-0 at the break, with Doherty having completed her hat-trick and Howe scoring twice.

There was no let-up in the second half as Doherty added two more, Howe three more and Amy Hyndman completed the scoring in the last minute.
