Evan Tweed was sent off for Institute.

It was a mixed bag of fortune for Donegal players in NIFL action over the weekend.

Carndonagh man Evan Tweed was sent off in Institute’s 1-0 win over Ballyclare Comrades in the Championship.

Tweed saw red in the 64th minute, just four minutes after Shaun Leppard put Kevin Deery’s men in front.

Tweed was joined in the ‘Stute side by Fionn McClure, a recent recruit from Cockhill Celtic, as well as Mark Mbuli and Michael Harris.

Ruairi McDonald scored as Annagh United maintained their spot at the top of the Championship with a 1-0 win over Dergview at Darragh Park.

Donegal men Keith Cowan, Gareth Harkin, Joshua Maxwell, Shane McMonagle and Jack Parke were all in the Dergview starting XI with Conor Black appearing as a second-half substitute.

At Solitude, Ronan Doherty played the full game as Cliftonville drew 1-1 with reigning NIFL Premiership champions Larne.

Ben Wilson put Cliftonville ahead in the 35th minute, but Lee Bonis drew level for Larne two minutes before half-time.

Letterkenny man Oran Brogan came on as a second half substitute as Loughgall drew 2-2 with Glenavon.

Loughgall led 2-0 with Tiernan Kelly and Andrew Hoey on target, but Glenavon’s Conor McCloskey scored in the 59th and 65th minutes to earn a draw.

Brogan played the final 21 minutes while former Finn Harps winger Caolan McAleeer also appeared as a late replacement.

Kieran Farren appeared as a substitute for Coleraine in a dramatic clash at Stangmore Park, where Dungannon Swifts came back from the dead, injury time goals by Matthew Lusty and Ethan McGee earning a 2-2 draw after Darren Cole and David McDaid had Coleraine 2-0 up.
