Amber Barrett and Lee McColgan are among the nominees for the 33rd FAI International Awards.

Barrett is shortlisted for Goal of the Year with McColgan among the three players bidding to be named the Amateur International Player of the Year.

The award winners will be announced at a ceremony on Tuesday, June 20 in The Round Room in The Mansion House, Dublin.

In October, Barrett netted a historic match-winner against Scotland at Hamden Park – the goal that secured qualification for the 2023 Women's World Cup. The goal came just days after the tragic explosion in Creeslough which claimed ten lives and Barrett had a nod to the victims in the moments after scoring.

This week, the 26-year-old signed for Belgian Cup winners Standard Liege after four years in the Frauen-Bundesliga, most recently with Turbine Postdam.

Cockhill Celtic player McColgan, a native of Creeslough, is among the candidates for the Amateur International Player of the Year gong.

In Cockhill Celtic's run to the FAI Intermediate Cup final – including in the decider – McColgan scored in every round. In the final, Cockhill lost an agonising penalty shoot-out to Rockmount after a 1-1 draw at The Showgrounds.

McColgan played all three games over the past week for the Republic of Ireland Amateur International team at the UEFA Regions Cup in Spain.

McColgan started all three games, a 2-0 defeat to Galicia (Spain), a 2-0 loss to Bavaria (Germany) and a 1-1 draw with Zenicha-Doboj (Bosnia & Herzegovina). McColgan was sent off in the 51st minute of Thursday's draw.

He has been a regular on the international squad, managed by Gerry Smyth, in recent years.
