Finn Harps goalkeeper Oisin Cooney has been named in the Republic of Ireland under-16 squad for a UEFA Development Tournament next week.
Cooney is among a 21-man squad named by head coach Paul Osam for the tournament in Slovakia.
The young net-minder came through the ranks at Clonmany Shamrocks before moving to Harps.
His displays have caught the eye of Osam and now Cooney could get a chance in one of three games in the tournament.
This is Cooney’s first international call-up.
Ireland open with a game against Latvia at MOL Academy, Dunajská Streda on Wednesday. They’re at the same venue to face Ukraine on Friday before they face Slovakia at NTC Senec on May 15.
Alfie Lynskey of Aston Villa, Chelsea’s Harry McGlinchey, William Martin of Odense BK, Empoli’s Matteo Egan Brody Lee from Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic’s Michael Noonan also received their first call-ups.
The competition will conclude this year’s under-16 season.
