Finn Harps will monitor captain Keith Cowan, who picked up an injury in the late stages of Friday night's 1-1 draw with Bray Wanderers.

Cowan seemed to be inhibited by a hamstring ailment in the closing chapter of the game.

With Dave Rogers already having used his quota of substitute breaks, the experienced defender was thrown up front.

“He just felt his hamstring tightening up,” Rogers said afterwards.

“I was actually looking to make a change, but we had already made our full amount. He said: 'Gaffer, throw me up front just as a body'. That's a testament to the leadership of Keith.”

Harps led through a free-kick by Ryan Flood, but Harry Groome drew Bray level.

It was a first point of the season and an enthusiastic Rogers said: “It's a point gained and a point in the right direction.”

Cowan returned to Harps as Rogers' first signing and was installed as captain having been at Drogheda United last season.

Cowan has made over 240 appearances in Harps' colours and his experience has been vital to the young squad already this year.

Harps are back at home next Friday when they welcome Wexford Youths to Finn Park.
