Donegal delight still so sweet for Harvest Rally winner Callum Devine

Callum Devine's fine form in Donegal continued at the weekend with another Harvest Rally win

Callum Devine claimed a fourth Donegal Harvest Rally on the trot at the weekend with another top class drive.

The Derry man - who had Noel O’Sullivan from Kerry alongside him calling the notes in a Skoda Rally 2 car - led from ramp to ramp.

Naturally, he was delighted to win the Harvest for the fourth time and, in the process, secure back to back Donegal International and Harvest Rally victories having first completed that clean sweep back in 2023.

In what had been an almost trouble-free afternoon, a puncture on Carnhill second last time around almost scuppered his chances.

“That middle stage of the loop was a tricky stage all day and I cannot put my finger on why but it was a tricky stage,” he said after.

“We got the puncture on the stage but thankfully we got to the end and the team did well to sort it out.

“We lost a bit of time alright but thankfully we had built up a lead and we came through no bother in the last stage.”

Devine was one of a big number of drivers that gave the thumbs up to the Ramelton town stage which welcomed back to the event for the first time in quite a few years.

“I really enjoyed the Ramelton stage and I was saying to the boys afterwards it would be nice to see it in the International. But I’m sure there is a lot to be considered before it can be included.”
