The Inishowen athletes that made the trip to Cork at the weekend
Inishowen AC made the long trek to Charleville at the weekend to take part in the National Half Marathon Championships with Pauric McKinney taking home a national gold medal.
The Cork event had a 10am start on Sunday morning but the long trip didn't phase the Donegal athletes.
There were perfect conditions for the runners and McKinney took full advantage by coming first in the male over 55 category and taking home the national title with a time of 76 minutes and four seconds.
42 seconds later, Martin McLucas was second home in the same category to earn a national silver medal. Liam Brady set a personal best in the male over 50 category and finished in eighth with a time of 78 minutes and one second.
The male over 50 team took home a national silver medal in the team event. They finished just behind Grange Fermoy AC.
Caoimhe Ni Shuibhne finished with a time of 89 minutes and 25 seconds while Aileen Devlin crossed the line in 93 minutes and 12 seconds.
Two other Donegal athletes ran with Martina Mulhern from Rosses Athletics Club finishing in a time of 92 minutes and 52 seconds while Barry Mackey from Letterkenny Athletics Club completed the half marathon in 87 minutes 48 seconds.
