Caoimhin Connolly won gold at the William Wallace Box Cup

Twin Towns Boxing Club's Caoimhin Connolly won gold at the William Wallace Box Cup in Scotland.

Connolly took gold in the make junior 46kgs class with St Bridget's Clonmany men Conan Kearney (silver) and Finton Robertson (bronze) were also on the podium.

Connolly, who won gold last October at the County Antrim Belfast Halloween Box Cup, overcame St Paul's BC puncher Eddie Reilly in the final. Connolly earned the 46kgs gold after claiming a unanimous decision.

Last summer, Connolly was part of a Donegal team in the same tournament and he also won gold, beating Liam Moohan from Barrhead ABC in the junior 44kgs final.

Connolly stopped Danny Smith of the High Fell ABC in the second round of their semi-final to book a place in the final, where he impressed against Reilly.

Kearney lost out on a split decision to Kobe Clarke from Wild Star ABC in the male junior 69kgs final.

Robertson left with bronze in the male junior 58kgs division after being stopped by Sonny Gow from Doon Valley.
