David Kelly in his Volkswagon Polo
For the second time on Saturday, David Kelly and Dean O’Sullivan in their Volkswagon Polo were the fastest pair through Garrygart at 4 minutes 56.9 seconds - Stage 10 of the Donegal International Rally.
In the greater scheme of things, Matt Edwards and David Moynihan in their Ford Fiesta Rally 2, remain in the lead, now at 14.5 seconds, after clocking 4 minutes 57 seconds.
Champions Callum Devine and Noel O’Sullivan (Skoda Fabia Rally 2) at 4 minutes 59 seconds are in pursuit while Cathal McCourt and Brian Hoy, Ford Fiesta, retain third spot at 5 minutes 5.2 seconds.
Headed to Service, Kevin Gallagher and Ryan Moore (Darrian T90 GTR) still hold the advantage Declan Gallagher and John McCarthy in the Toyota Starlet.
Gallagher and Moore went around Garrygart second time around at 5 minutes 07.8 seconds with ‘The Milkman’ at 5 minutes 09.8 seconds. With 21 seconds now the gap there. And Ardara native Declan knows he needs to keep turning the screw on his namesake.
"We're happy enough - we can't go much harder. Things are going well. We'll push on and there are two new stages which will be a challenge for everyone.
"If we can keep the same pressure on we'll be happy. The car is going well and the hope is it stays that way and we get a clean run".
