Dunfanaghy Boxing Club's Eddie McBride booked a place in the semi-finals of the National Junior Cadet Championships.

McBride impressed in a 52kgs quarter-final at the National Stadium on Saturday.

McBride sealed a semi spot thanks to a unanimous decision win over Eamon Kaye from St Michael's, Athy.

There was no joy for Colm Callaghan of Carndonagh BC. Having beaten Jesse Connolly from Neilstown 5-0 on Friday night, Callaghan was beaten on a UD by Mullingar Elite's Patrick Nevin in a 54kgs quarter-final.

On Friday night, Twin Towns' Caden Keenan lost a 4-1 split to Olympic's Evan Reilly with Noah Quinn from Carndonagh BC falling to a UD defeat against St Michael's puncher Jack St Ledger.
