Kyle McBride and Liam McIntyre in action in Killarney
Kyle McBride had a successful first outing in his new Fiesta.
The Carndonagh driver won class 2 at the Killarney Forestry Rally.
McBride, with Donegal Town's Liam McIntyre navigating, were 15th overall.
McBride won the British Rally Championship’s Academy Trophy last year, sealing the deal at Rali Ceredigion in Aberystwyth, Wales.
Also in 2022, McBride – who is in the Motorsport Ireland Academy - had success at the Jim Clark Rally and the Corbeau Seats Rally.
“It sure was a very tricky rally with a lot of fast sections, straights, technical sections, and much more,” he said
“It was tough going on the first stage. It was my first time ever driving the new car on gravel, but throughout the day we built on our pace and improved on it a lot.”
Pettigo's Dylan Eves, with Ryan Farrell from Monaghan on the notes, was 19th overall and third in class 2, while Donegal man Danny McLaughlin navigated for the class 12 winner, Donal Connolly in an Escort.
