Customers reported several issues with the app including not being able to log in, push notification problems and not being able to authenticate their purchases.

They continued: "We’re working to resolve this. Customers can still carry out some transactions online and use their card on all other channels."

Several users took to X to voice their concerns with the bank on the issue with one customer writing: "What caused this? I can't pay my bills, it's asking me to approve the transaction and the app is down so nothing is getting paid."

Another user wrote: "At any point today, will you know an estimated time frame for when this will be fixed, I can not access anything and I need this urgently."

In reply to several affected customers on social media, AIB's customer support have said that: "At present, we do not have an estimated timeframe for resolve on this. The team are working urgently to resolve this as soon as possible."

The issues with the app first began in the early hours of Friday morning and are currently ongoing as AIB assure customers that they are working to resolve the issue so customers can resume their online banking.
