A man has been arrested and gardaí are investigating after a young woman was allegedly falsely imprisoned in a car during a late-night incident in Listowel, Co Kerry.
The ordeal is reported to have taken place at around 3.20am on Sunday on Clieveragh Road, just outside the town centre.
A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the investigation and is being questioned at a Garda station in the Southern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
As part of their appeal, gardaí said they are "particularly interested in the movements of a white Audi A4 saloon vehicle" in the area between 2am and 4am.
Gardaí are urging anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have dash-cam or other footage, to come forward immediately.

Investigations are ongoing, a spokesperson confirmed.
