Gardaí say the motorist has been charged with multiple offences and is due before the courts
A driver was intercepted when they failed to stop for gardaí in Carlow Town at the weekend.
The driver was arrested for the possession of counterfeit currency, driving under the influence of cannabis, criminal damage, possession of drugs, driving without a licence and dangerous driving.
In a post on social media, gardaí say the car did not have insurance, tax or a valid NCT.
The incident happened in the town centre shortly before midnight on Saturday.
The Gardaí have also stated that the motorist had previously been disqualified from driving.
The vehicle was seized following the detection and investigations are ongoing.

Another netizen called the offending driver an “absolute clown”.
The arrested motorist is due to appear before Carlow District Court to face charges in relation to the incident.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the event to contact Carlow Garda Station with any information that they may have regarding the incident.
