Man in his 40s in critical condition following early morning assault in Dublin

Gardaí in Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious assault that occurred in the Temple Bar Square area of Dublin 2 in the early hours of this morning, Thursday August 21, 2025.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident at approximately 12.30am.

A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The scene was preserved and a technical examination has been completed.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this incident or who may have video footage to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on (01) 6669000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
