Hello! I’m Laura, I’m 26, and I’m from Sydney, Australia. My Irish heritage comes from my dad, a proud Graiguenamanagh man from County Kilkenny. I’m a qualified Occupational Therapist, previously working with children with disabilities. I now work at the University of New South Wales as a Research Assistant on projects focused on physical activity, gender equality, and building positive futures for young people and First Nations Indigenous Australians. I’m currently in my final year of a Master’s in Public Health and plan to pursue a PhD in sport and equality, with a focus on empowering marginalised communities. Though born and raised in Sydney, my Irish heritage has always been central to my identity. I’ve proudly stayed connected through 20 years of Irish dancing—a tradition that’s deepened my connection to Irish culture and community. I’m passionate about public health advocacy and actively support initiatives including the Cancer Council, Darkness into Light, and Liptember. As a Rose, I’m honoured to represent my Irish roots, celebrate the vibrant Sydney-Irish community, and inspire young women to lead boldly and pursue ambitious futures.
