Man dies after hit-and-run incident in Dublin

A man aged in his 20s has died following a hit-and-run incident in Dublin.

The collision took place in Railway Street, Balbriggan, after 9pm on Monday.

Gardai said the male pedestrian was struck by a car that failed to remain at the scene.

The man received emergency treatment but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The scene has been preserved pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local traffic diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone with footage of the incident, to come forward.
