Shocking! Gardaí intercept driver travelling almost double the speed limit on busy road
Gardaí in Mayo caught a driver travelling almost double the speed limit on the N5 last Thursday night.
In a post on social media, gardaí said they were on patrol on the road when they detected a car travelling over 193km/h in the 100km/h zone.
We were on patrol on the N5 in Mayo last Thursday night when we caught this car travelling 193km/h in a 100km/h area.

They were stopped and the driver now has a court appearance in the future, where they can explain themselves to a judge.#SaferRoads pic.twitter.com/OquP9mMN2l
The driver was stopped by gardaí and they are now due to appear in court.
