Woman drowns off coast of Dublin after getting into difficulty while swimming

A woman has died after getting into difficulty while swimming off the coast of Dublin on Monday 7 October. 

The emergency services were alerted to the incident in Portmarnock, County Dublin at around 1.30pm on Monday. Rescue helicopter 116, Howth coastguard and the RNLI responded to the emergency.

After an hour of searching, the woman was located and pronounced dead shortly after.
