'Be ready to remove hoodies' - Dublin Airport issues advice for bank holiday flyers

Dublin Airport has issued travel advice for passengers flying over the June bank holiday weekend.

An airport spokesperson posted information and a number of tips on Dublin Airport's official X (formerly Twitter) page yesterday morning (May 30).

Passengers are urged to use alternative transportation like a bus or taxi to get to the airport as all car parks are now sold out.

However, spaces will be available in the short-term car parks for dropping off and picking up passengers only.

Information on other means of transportation including bus services is available on the Dublin Airport website.

People are advised to arrive 2 hours before short-haul flights and 3 hours before long-haul flights, and passengers are asked to be ready to remove hoodies, baggy jumpers and boots or footwear extending above the ankle at security.

Passengers are also asked to remember that liquid must be under 100ml and enclosed in a sealed clear bag no larger than 20cm x 20cm.

This is to minimise potential delays at security checkpoints during busy periods.
