Gemstones sold to thousands of people across Ireland have been recalled due to a major safety concern.
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Giftstones Ltd (British Fossils) are carrying out a recall on certain magnetic gemstones due to a risk of choking and injuries.
If swallowed, the stones may cause internal damage if ingested.
The affected products are the Power Magnet Gemstones Pack, Hematite Magnetic Gemstones, Iridescent Hematite Magnetic Gemstones, and the Iridescent Power Magnet Gemstones Pack.
The model numbers are PK73, PK74, PU03 and PU06, and the barcodes are PK73: 5060104583170, PK74: 5060270221937, PU03: 5060303096044, PU06: 5060270226048.
These products were sold by:
Arigna Mining Experience, Arigna, Co. Roscommon
Amber, Upper Bridge St Westport, Co. Mayo
Natural Health Store Market Cross Shopping Centre, Kilkenny, Co Kilkenny
Natural Health Store, Main St Wexford, Co Wexford
An Ceard Siopa, Inisheer, Aran Islands, Co Galway
The products were manufactured from 2021 to 2023 and there are approximately 3,900 affected products in Ireland.
If you have one of these magnets, please keep away from children and pets.
Dispose of them responsibly and contact the retailer it was purchased from with proof of purchase to receive a refund.
