A faulty baby carrier is being recalled due to a structural problem which may cause the handle to detach.
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Britax Römer is carrying out a recall of BABY-SAFE 5Z2 Infant Carrier due to the risk of injury to infants who use it.
A gap may form between the handle and seat-shell of the affected infant carriers, causing the handle to potentially detach unexpectedly when being used to carry the infant outside of a vehicle.
This could potentially cause the baby and the carrier to fall or collide with other items and injure the infant.
The affected products were produced before 21 October 2023, and there are approximately 24 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
Customers should stop using the product immediately; all affected BABY-SAFE 5Z2 models will be replaced free of charge with a new safe version of the product, the BABY-Safe PRO or an equivalent product.
To check if your product is affected and to request a replacement please visit www.baby-safe-check.com.
