Train services through Portlaoise have now resumed after a vehicle struck a bridge in the area, causing disruptions and delays for commuters.
Authorities have successfully managed the situation, but travelers are advised to anticipate delays of up to 40 minutes as a result of the incident.
The incident occurred earlier this afternoon, prompting immediate response Irish Rail staff.
After thorough assessment and necessary repairs, officials have given the green light for the resumption of services. However, commuters are urged to exercise patience as the flow of traffic may still be impacted, resulting in delays during the ongoing rush hours.
