A motorist is facing prosecution and a possible ban and prison sentence following an incident in Co. Kildare.
According to gardai, members of the Naas Roads Policing Unit seized a Volkswagen car after they were alerted to multiple offences and breaches of the Road Traffic Act.
In a post on social media, they say they were initially alerted after they observed a "speeding driver overtaking on white lines" on the R148 road at Cappagh, Kilcock.
The vehicle, which did not have insurance, was stopped by gardai and the driver subsequently tested positive for cocaine and cannabis.
They were arrested on suspicion of drug driving and will now face prosecution before the courts.
In addition to a mandatory disqualification, any driver convicted of drug-driving, also faces a potential fine and a prison sentence of up to six months.
