An auction is to take place that will include the original contents of 'Donegal Shore House' - the former residence of singer and songwriter Daniel O'Donnell.

The house - on Cruit Island, which overlooks Daniel’s birthplace of Kincasslagh and the Atlantic Ocean - has been sold twice since he originally sold it, but the contents have stayed with the house.

The most recent vendor of the house has decided to sell the contents as it is surplus to requirements.

A two-day auction will take place on Sunday. March 10 at 2:30pm and Tuesday March 12, 5:30pm. All items have been removed to Kells Auction Room for convenience of sale, with the catalogue and public viewing times available on the Matthews Auction Rooms website.

The first day will see the original Contents 'Donegal Shore House', the former residence of Daniel O'Donnell; the property of Fr Phonsie Mackin (deceased 2020) and other valued private clients go under the hammer. There will be 870 lots, including designer and antique furniture, mirrors, collectables, etc.

Then, day two will see the auction of jewellery, gold and silver, to include jewels from the estate of Claudine Auger, former Bond Girl 'Thunderball' 1965. The 465 lots nclude fine diamond ruby necklace, several diamond Rings, attractive sapphire earrings, etc.
