The motorists were caught driving over 90km/h on the road in Kildare

Gardaí catch several cars travelling 30km/h ABOVE speed limit on wet road

A number of cars travelling over 30km/h above the speed limit were stopped by Gardaí in Co Kildare recently. 

According to An Garda Síochána, the Naas Roads Policing Unit were carrying out speed checks in Castledermot when they detected the motorists driving over 90km/h in wet conditions. 

The speeds were well over the 60km/h legal limit of the road the cars were travelling on. 

The motorists were stopped and issued with a €160 fine and three penalty points.
