An urgent recall has been issued for a number of vacuum cleaners, over 20,000 of which have been sold in Ireland.
The risk presented by these products is electric shock and burns.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) say that due to a manufacturing defect, the back of the adaptor can come off which may expose live parts and could result in electric shock or burns.
The brands are Beldray and Salter. The product descriptions are BELDRAY REVO CORDLESS, BELDRAY REVO PET PLUS, BELDRAY REVO DIGITAL and SALTER HANDY PRO HAND VAC. All batches and colours are affected. The defect affects all UK and Ireland adaptors supplied since January 2020. BS, 3-Pin, DC Adaptor Model Number TYBSDC1400500.
There are approximately 20,072 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
